Mạn Mạn Thanh La (The Entangled Life of Qingluo) tells the story of Trinh Tinh, a college student who wakes up one morning to find herself in the body of six-year-old Ly Thanh La, the seventh wife of the idealized nobleman Ly Phu in the Ninh dynasty. As time goes by, when Thanh La turns twelve, she attends the Flower Picking Festival with her two older sisters. It is here that she meets the five young masters from the Feng city and replaces her sister to play the guzheng, captivating the heart of the Crown Prince. At the same time, she also becomes entangled in a feud with Liu Jia, the young prince of the An Thanh kingdom. Back in the suffocating life in the Ly household, Thanh La constantly plans her escape, preparing step by step. During one of her outings, she befriends Tu Ly, who is none other than the Fourth Prince of Ninh, and together they open a restaurant to make a living. The intertwined relationships lead Thanh La to reunite and confront Liu Jia, while Tu Ly's prestigious background and deep affection for her make it impossible for him to see her as just an ordinary sister. The Ly nobleman sees his daughters as stepping stones to power and status, igniting the battle for the throne. Amidst all this, the growing affection of Tu Ly for Thanh La and his sense of duty, as well as the blossoming care of Liu Jia, will all unfold in unpredictable ways.
